Who is Moorabbin Flying Services?

Moorabbin Flying Services, formerly Moorabbin Flying School, was established in 1993 by a group of professional pilots with many years' aviation and business experience. Their aim was to provide excellence of training and specialist instruction for the individual.

The company has grown to become Moorabbin Airport's premiere pilot training facility. Our commitment to flying training is second to none, fostered by our highly experienced staff.

Many former students and staff now fly for international, national and regional airlines.

Many of our new flyers are referred to us from Pilots who have completed their training.  A lot of our students come down to the school during their lunch hours to eat lunch and "hang out" and chat with our great team of instructors.  In fact, we encourage our students and pilots to drop in for coffee at anytime or at Sunday BBQs in the warmer weather.  By keeping in touch and with some informal "hangar flying" you will always be amongst people who share the desire to fly.

One of our regular visitors is a QANTAS 767 Captain, he completed his Commercial training flying Piper Warriors with one of our Instructors back in 1986. He originally caught the flying bug on his first flight after one of our current Private Pilots badgered him into a Sunday afternoon joy flight to King Island back in the early 1980s. Several of our other "social aviators" are some of our former Instructors who are now Captains and First Officers with CATHAY, VIRGIN and QANTAS. They all have a wealth of flying experience and interesting tales to share with you from their early training days.

At these gatherings, tall stories from our recent fly-aways are always retold. (And you thought that only fisherman exaggerate their stories!!).
