Situated on Port Phillip Bay, Melbourne is the second largest city in Australia (population of about 3 million people) and is the capital of Victoria, which is located at the south-eastern tip of the Australian mainland.

Victoria has the second largest population of any Australian state (about four and a half million people) and this makes it the most densely populated state in the country - and three quarters of the state's population live in it's capital city, Melbourne.
Victoria is Australia's smallest mainland state (228,000 square kilometres) and is slightly smaller than the US state of California, but about the same size as the the US state of Minnesota or the United Kingdom.

Hire a plane from MFS and in 10 minutes you could be doing a city orbit of Melbourne. Get a bird's eye view of the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground), the Tennis Centre, the Arts Centre, the Royal Exhibition Building, Southbank, Government House and the Shrine of Remembrance to name a few.

Alternatively, in 20 minutes, you could be having a picnic lunch on the beach at Phillip Island. Stay the night and watch the famous Penguin Parade.

Feeling a bit more adventurous? Fly up to Bendigo for lunch - only an hour away in the Piper Warrior. Located 150km North of Melbourne, Bendigo is a historically rich city with a culturally diverse population of over 65,000.Bendigo was one of the greatest goldfields in the world during the 19th century with over 22 million ounces of gold recovered from more than 35 gold-bearing reefs in an area extending over 360 square kilometres.
